About this campground
Trekkingcamp Wolfsheulen offers a unique wilderness experience located near the historic Bunker Erwin in the heart of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. This secluded site is specifically designed for hikers and nature enthusiasts who want to enjoy a legal overnight stay deep within the forest surroundings of Börfink.
The facilities at the camp are intentionally minimalist to preserve the natural environment. Guests will find a wooden platform for pitching tents and a basic composting toilet. There is no supply of drinking water or electricity on-site, so campers must be fully self-sufficient and practice "leave no trace" principles by carrying out all waste.
Access to the camp is restricted to those arriving on foot, making it an ideal stopover for multi-day trekking tours through the low mountain range. Since the number of spots is strictly limited, online reservation through the official national park portal is required before arrival to ensure a quiet and sustainable stay.
